योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-5, verse-18

तावद्भवमहाम्भोधौ जनस्तृणवदुह्यते ।
विचारतटविश्रान्तिमेति यावन्न चेतसा ॥ १८ ॥
tāvadbhavamahāmbhodhau janastṛṇavaduhyate ,
vicārataṭaviśrāntimeti yāvanna cetasā 18
18. tāvat bhava-mahā-ambhodhau janaḥ tṛṇavat uhyate
vicāra-taṭa-viśrāntim eti yāvat na cetasā
18. yāvat cetasā vicāra-taṭa-viśrāntim na eti
tāvat janaḥ bhava-mahā-ambhodhau tṛṇavat uhyate
18. So long as the mind (cetas) does not attain rest upon the shore of discernment, a person is carried away like a blade of grass in the great ocean of worldly existence (saṃsāra).
