आभूतलमभिप्रोतसप्तपातालमण्डलैः ।
क्वचिद्रत्नाकरैर्व्याप्तः पातालैर्विवरैरिव ॥ १४ ॥

14. kvacit ratnākaraiḥ abhiprota-sapta-pātāla-maṇḍalaiḥ
ā-bhūtalam vivaraiḥ pātālaiḥ iva vyāptaḥ

14. Somewhere, it was pervaded by oceans (ratnākaraiḥ), whose vast realms of the seven netherworlds (pātāla) stretched up to the earth's surface (bhūtala), appearing like netherworlds (pātāla) themselves with their many chasms.
