योगवासिष्ठः yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-50, verse-31

केवलं रुधिरव्रातं नागो जलमिवात्यजत् ।
तद्देशलीला तं दृष्ट्वा भग्नं तम इवेन्दुना ॥ ३१ ॥

tat-deśa-līlā tam dṛṣṭvā indunā bhagnam tamaḥ iva

31. The serpent-demon (nāga) merely disgorged (atyajat) a mass of blood (rudhiravrātām), just like water (jalam iva). Līlā from that region (tad-deśa-līlā), seeing him (tam dṛṣṭvā), [felt as if] darkness (tamaḥ) were dispelled (bhagnam) by the moon (indunā).
