2. tato hatāṃstān sahasā niśamya rājā mumohāśrupariplutākṣaḥ ,
putrakṣayaṃ bhrātṛvadhaṃ ca ghoraṃ vicintya rājā vipulaṃ pradadhyau.

Then, having suddenly heard of their being slain, the king became bewildered, his eyes overflowing with tears. Reflecting on the dreadful destruction of his sons and the slaughter of his brothers, the king deeply pondered (pradadhyau).
