वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-22, verse-31

प्रद्रुताश्च परे त्रस्ता हन्यमाना जघन्यतः ।
अभिद्रुतास्तु रक्षोभिः सिंहैरिव महाद्विपाः ॥३१॥
31. pradrutāśca pare trastā hanyamānā jaghanyataḥ ,
abhidrutāstu rakṣobhiḥ siṃhairiva mahādvipāḥ.
31. pradrutāḥ ca apare trastāḥ hanyamānāḥ jaghanyataḥ
abhidrutāḥ tu rakṣobhiḥ siṃhaiḥ iva mahādvipāḥ
31. ca apare trastāḥ (santo) jaghanyataḥ hanyamānāḥ (ca) pradutāḥ (babhūvuḥ).
tu (te) rakṣobhiḥ abhidrutāḥ (āsan),
siṃhaiḥ mahādvipāḥ iva.
31. And others, terrified and being struck from behind, fled. They were pursued by rākṣasas, just as great elephants are pursued by lions.
