वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-4, verse-27

किं तु चित्तं मनुष्याणामनित्यमिति मे मतिः ।
सतां च धर्मनित्यानां कृतशोभि च राघव ॥२७॥
27. kiṃ tu cittaṃ manuṣyāṇāmanityamiti me matiḥ ,
satāṃ ca dharmanityānāṃ kṛtaśobhi ca rāghava.
27. kim tu cittam manuṣyāṇām anityam iti me matiḥ
satām ca dharmanityānām kṛtaśobhi ca rāghava
27. rāghava kim tu manuṣyāṇām cittam anityam iti
me matiḥ ca satām dharmanityānām kṛtaśobhi ca
27. However, my opinion (mati) is that the minds of humans are impermanent. And, O Rāghava, for those virtuous ones who are steadfast in natural law (dharma), their actions are indeed glorious.
