मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
पद्मिनी नाम या विद्या लक्ष्मीस्तस्याश्च देवता ।
तदाधाराश्च निधयस्तन्मे निगदतः शृणु ॥४॥

4. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
padminī nāma yā vidyā lakṣmīstasyāśca devatā .
tadādhārāśca nidhayastanme nigadataḥ śṛṇu.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Listen to me as I explain about the knowledge (vidyā) known as Padminī, whose presiding deity is Lakṣmī, and upon which the treasures (nidhayas) are based.
