मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-68, verse-28

प्रयाति सङ्गमेकं च यं निधिर्भजते नरम् ।
रजस्तमोमयश्चान्यो नन्दो नाम महानिधिः ॥२८॥
28. prayāti saṅgamekaṃ ca yaṃ nidhirbhajate naram .
rajastamomayaścānyo nando nāma mahānidhiḥ.
28. prayāti saṅgam ekam ca yam nidhiḥ bhajate naram
rajastamomayaḥ ca anyaḥ nandaḥ nāma mahānidhiḥ
28. A treasure (nidhiḥ) that a man (naram) obtains (bhajate) leads him to a singular attachment (saṅgam ekam prayāti). There is also another great treasure (mahānidhiḥ) named Nanda, which is characterized by the qualities of passion (rajas) and inertia (tamas).
