महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-4, verse-24

नाभ्यसूयामि ते वाक्यमुक्तं स्निग्धं हितं त्वया ।
न तु संधिमहं मन्ये प्राप्तकालं कथंचन ॥२४॥
24. nābhyasūyāmi te vākyamuktaṁ snigdhaṁ hitaṁ tvayā ,
na tu saṁdhimahaṁ manye prāptakālaṁ kathaṁcana.
24. na abhyasūyāmi te vākyam uktam snigdham hitam tvayā
na tu sandhim aham manye prāptakālam kathaṃcana
24. tvayā snigdham hitam uktam te vākyam na abhyasūyāmi
tu aham sandhim kathaṃcana prāptakālam na manye
24. I do not resent your words, which were spoken affectionately and beneficially by you. However, I do not consider a peace treaty (sandhi) to be opportune at all.
