महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-89, verse-42

बद्धवैरास्तथा द्रोणे धर्मराजजयैषिणः ।
भारद्वाजस्तथा तेषु कृतवैरो महारथः ॥४२॥
42. baddhavairāstathā droṇe dharmarājajayaiṣiṇaḥ ,
bhāradvājastathā teṣu kṛtavairo mahārathaḥ.

42. The Pañcālas, who harbored deep enmity (vaira) towards Droṇa and desired the victory of Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), confronted him. Similarly, Bhāradvāja (Droṇa), that great warrior (mahāratha), had also established a firm enmity (vaira) towards them.
