महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-84, verse-9

स हि भीष्मं समासाद्य ताडयामास संयुगे ।
ततो निष्टानको घोरो भीष्मभीमसमागमे ॥९॥
9. sa hi bhīṣmaṁ samāsādya tāḍayāmāsa saṁyuge ,
tato niṣṭānako ghoro bhīṣmabhīmasamāgame.
9. sa hi bhīṣmam samāsādya tāḍayāmāsa saṃyuge
tataḥ niṣṭānakaḥ ghoraḥ bhīṣmabhīmasamāgame
9. saḥ hi bhīṣmam samāsādya saṃyuge tāḍayāmāsa tataḥ
bhīṣmabhīmasamāgame ghoraḥ niṣṭānakaḥ (āsīt)
9. Indeed, he (Bhīmasena), having approached Bhīṣma in battle, struck him. Then, at the encounter of Bhīṣma and Bhīma, there arose a terrible roar.
