महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-16, verse-14

नातः कार्यतमं मन्ये रणे भीष्मस्य रक्षणात् ।
हन्याद्गुप्तो ह्यसौ पार्थान्सोमकांश्च ससृञ्जयान् ॥१४॥

14. nātaḥ kāryatamaṁ manye raṇe bhīṣmasya rakṣaṇāt ,
hanyādgupto hyasau pārthānsomakāṁśca sasṛñjayān.

14. I believe there is no more critical task than protecting Bhīṣma in battle. For, if he is safeguarded, he would indeed kill the Pāṇḍavas, along with the Somakas and the Sṛñjayas.
