महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-4, verse-24

न मृषाभिहितं राज्ञो मनुष्येषु प्रकाशयेत् ।
यं चासूयन्ति राजानः पुरुषं न वदेच्च तम् ॥२४॥

24. na mṛṣābhihitaṁ rājño manuṣyeṣu prakāśayet ,
yaṁ cāsūyanti rājānaḥ puruṣaṁ na vadecca tam.

24. na mṛṣā abhihitam rājñaḥ manuṣyeṣu prakāśayet
yam ca asūyanti rājānaḥ puruṣam na vadet ca tam

24. One should not reveal among people what has been falsely spoken concerning the king. Furthermore, one should not speak to a person whom kings envy.
