प्रत्याख्याता मया तत्र नलस्यार्थाय देवताः ।
नूनं तेषां प्रभावेन वियोगं प्राप्तवत्यहम् ॥१६॥

I thought the guardians of the worlds (lokapālās) had come for the svayaṃvara, but I rejected those deities there for Nala's sake. Surely, it is by their power (prabhāva) that I have now experienced separation (viyoga).
