महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-49, verse-18

यज्ञैश्च विविधैस्तात कृतं पापमरिंदम ।
अवधूय महाराज गच्छेम स्वर्गमुत्तमम् ॥१८॥
18. yajñaiśca vividhaistāta kṛtaṁ pāpamariṁdama ,
avadhūya mahārāja gacchema svargamuttamam.
18. yajñaiḥ ca vividhaiḥ tāta kṛtam pāpam arimdama
avadhūya mahārāja gacchema svargam uttamam
18. O dear one, O subduer of foes, O great king, having cast off the sin that was committed through various sacred rituals (yajña), we may attain the supreme heaven.
