महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-49, verse-19

एवमेतद्भवेद्राजन्यदि राजा न बालिशः ।
अस्माकं दीर्घसूत्रः स्याद्भवान्धर्मपरायणः ॥१९॥
19. evametadbhavedrājanyadi rājā na bāliśaḥ ,
asmākaṁ dīrghasūtraḥ syādbhavāndharmaparāyaṇaḥ.
19. evam etat bhavet rājan yadi rājā na bāliśaḥ
asmākam dīrghasūtraḥ syāt bhavān dharmaparāyaṇaḥ
19. O King, this would indeed happen if a ruler is not foolish. But you, dedicated to righteousness (dharma), would be slow to act as far as we are concerned.
