यथा वदन्ति शान्तायां दिशि वै मृगपक्षिणः ।
पार्थिवी च प्रवृत्तिस्ते तथा जीवति सत्यवान् ॥१८॥

18. māṇḍavya uvāca ,
yathā vadanti śāntāyāṁ diśi vai mṛgapakṣiṇaḥ ,
pārthivī ca pravṛttiste tathā jīvati satyavān.

Māṇḍavya said: "Just as the animals and birds make auspicious sounds in a peaceful direction, and as your earthly disposition (pravṛtti) indicates, so too Satyavān lives."
