महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-135, verse-16

पर्यतप्यत तेजस्वी मन्युनाभिपरिप्लुतः ।
तपस्तेपे ततो घोरं वेदज्ञानाय पाण्डव ॥१६॥

16. O Pāṇḍava, the radiant Yavakrī, overwhelmed by anger, felt great distress. Then he undertook severe austerity (tapas) to gain knowledge of the Vedas.
