महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-62, verse-33

आवाहाश्च विवाहाश्च यज्ञाश्चान्नमृते तथा ।
न वर्तन्ते नरश्रेष्ठ ब्रह्म चात्र प्रलीयते ॥३३॥
33. āvāhāśca vivāhāśca yajñāścānnamṛte tathā ,
na vartante naraśreṣṭha brahma cātra pralīyate.

na vartante naraśreṣṭha brahma ca atra pralīyate
33. naraśreṣṭha annam ṛte āvāhāḥ ca vivāhāḥ ca yajñāḥ
ca tathā na vartante ca atra brahma pralīyate
33. O best among men, without food, neither social gatherings, nor marriages, nor (Vedic) rituals (yajña) can take place. And here, even sacred knowledge (brahma) dissipates.
