महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-62, verse-21

ब्राह्मणो हि महद्भूतं स्वयं देहीति याचते ।
अकामो वा सकामो वा दत्त्वा पुण्यमवाप्नुयात् ॥२१॥
21. brāhmaṇo hi mahadbhūtaṁ svayaṁ dehīti yācate ,
akāmo vā sakāmo vā dattvā puṇyamavāpnuyāt.

akāmaḥ vā sakāmaḥ vā dattvā puṇyam avāpnuyāt

21. A brahmin is indeed a great being; he himself asks, saying "give." Whether one gives without desire or with desire, by giving, one obtains spiritual merit (puṇya).
