महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-57, verse-25

दासीदासमलंकारान्क्षेत्राणि च गृहाणि च ।
ब्रह्मदेयां सुतां दत्त्वा प्राप्नोति मनुजर्षभ ॥२५॥
25. dāsīdāsamalaṁkārānkṣetrāṇi ca gṛhāṇi ca ,
brahmadeyāṁ sutāṁ dattvā prāpnoti manujarṣabha.
25. dāsīdāsam alaṃkārān kṣetrāṇi ca gṛhāṇi ca
brahmadeyām sutām dattvā prāpnoti manujarṣabha
25. manujarṣabha dāsīdāsam alaṃkārān kṣetrāṇi ca
gṛhāṇi ca brahmadeyām sutām dattvā prāpnoti
25. O best of men, one obtains (great merit) by giving away female and male servants, ornaments, fields, and houses, and by giving a daughter as a sacred gift (dāna).
