महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-57, verse-11

अहिंसायाः फलं रूपं दीक्षाया जन्म वै कुले ।
फलमूलाशिनां राज्यं स्वर्गः पर्णाशिनां भवेत् ॥११॥
11. ahiṁsāyāḥ phalaṁ rūpaṁ dīkṣāyā janma vai kule ,
phalamūlāśināṁ rājyaṁ svargaḥ parṇāśināṁ bhavet.

11. Beauty is the fruit of non-violence (ahiṃsā). Birth in a good lineage is the reward of spiritual initiation. Sovereignty is obtained by those who subsist on fruits and roots, and heaven (svarga) accrues to those who eat only leaves.
