महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-57, verse-17

रसानां प्रतिसंहारात्सौभाग्यमिह विन्दति ।
आमिषप्रतिसंहारात्प्रजास्यायुष्मती भवेत् ॥१७॥
17. rasānāṁ pratisaṁhārātsaubhāgyamiha vindati ,
āmiṣapratisaṁhārātprajāsyāyuṣmatī bhavet.

āmiṣapratisaṃhārāt prajāḥ syāt āyuṣmatī bhavet

17. By abstaining from (excessive) tastes (rasa), one obtains good fortune in this world. By abstaining from meat (āmiṣa), one's progeny becomes long-lived.
