महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-57, verse-27

सर्वातिशङ्की नृपतिर्यश्च सर्वहरो भवेत् ।
स क्षिप्रमनृजुर्लुब्धः स्वजनेनैव बाध्यते ॥२७॥
27. sarvātiśaṅkī nṛpatiryaśca sarvaharo bhavet ,
sa kṣipramanṛjurlubdhaḥ svajanenaiva bādhyate.
27. sarvātiśaṅkī nṛpatiḥ yaḥ ca sarvaharaḥ bhavet
saḥ kṣipram anṛjuḥ lubdhaḥ svajanena eva bādhyate
27. yaḥ nṛpatiḥ sarvātiśaṅkī ca sarvaharaḥ bhavet,
saḥ anṛjuḥ lubdhaḥ (nṛpatiḥ) svajanena eva kṣipram bādhyate
27. A king who is overly suspicious of everyone and who is an oppressor (taking everything away) – such a dishonest and greedy ruler is swiftly oppressed by his own people.
