महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-57, verse-26

प्रत्यक्षा च परोक्षा च वृत्तिश्चास्य भवेत्सदा ।
एवं कृत्वा नरेन्द्रो हि न खेदमिह विन्दति ॥२६॥
26. pratyakṣā ca parokṣā ca vṛttiścāsya bhavetsadā ,
evaṁ kṛtvā narendro hi na khedamiha vindati.
26. pratyakṣā ca parokṣā ca vṛttiḥ ca asya bhavet sadā
evaṃ kṛtvā narendraḥ hi na khedam iha vindati
26. asya pratyakṣā ca parokṣā ca vṛttiḥ ca sadā bhavet
evaṃ kṛtvā hi narendraḥ iha khedam na vindati
26. Both direct and indirect (forms of) activity should always be his. By acting in this manner, a king truly experiences no distress in this world.
