महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-101, verse-36

यस्य स्म व्यसने राजन्ननुमोदन्ति शत्रवः ।
तदसह्यतरं दुःखमहं मन्ये वधादपि ॥३६॥
36. yasya sma vyasane rājannanumodanti śatravaḥ ,
tadasahyataraṁ duḥkhamahaṁ manye vadhādapi.

tat asahyataraṃ duḥkham aham manye vadhāt api
36. rājan,
yasya vyasane śatravaḥ sma anumodanti,
tat duḥkham aham vadhāt api asahyataraṃ manye
36. O King, I consider that suffering (duḥkham) in whose calamity (vyasane) enemies (śatravaḥ) rejoice to be more unbearable (asahyataraṃ) even than death (vadhād api).
