महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-26, verse-3

स तद्विनाशसंत्रासादनुपत्य खगाधिपः ।
शाखामास्येन जग्राह तेषामेवान्ववेक्षया ।
शनैः पर्यपतत्पक्षी पर्वतान्प्रविशातयन् ॥३॥
3. sa tadvināśasaṁtrāsādanupatya khagādhipaḥ ,
śākhāmāsyena jagrāha teṣāmevānvavekṣayā ,
śanaiḥ paryapatatpakṣī parvatānpraviśātayan.

khagādhipaḥ śākhām āsyena jagrāha
teṣām eva anvavekṣayā śanaiḥ

3. Out of fear for their destruction, the lord of birds, moving swiftly, grasped the branch with his beak, purely out of concern for them. The bird then descended slowly, shattering mountains as he went.
