योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-46, verse-21

तत्रापश्यदसौ सर्वं विषण्णवदनं जनम् ।
जालं कुङ्कुमपुष्पाणां भुक्तमूलमिवाखुना ॥ २१ ॥
tatrāpaśyadasau sarvaṃ viṣaṇṇavadanaṃ janam ,
jālaṃ kuṅkumapuṣpāṇāṃ bhuktamūlamivākhunā 21
21. tatra apaśyat asau sarvam viṣaṇṇavadanam janam
jālam kuṅkumapuṣpāṇām bhuktamūlam iva ākhunā
21. tatra asau sarvam viṣaṇṇavadanam janam apaśyat,
ākhunā bhuktamūlam kuṅkumapuṣpāṇām jālam iva.
21. There he saw all the people with dejected faces, like a cluster of saffron flowers whose roots have been eaten by a mouse.
