योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-46, verse-18

नृपोऽवधीरयामास तां तां श्वपचसंकथाम् ।
वृक्षाग्रगतमार्जारफेत्कारं मृगराडिव ॥ १८ ॥
nṛpo'vadhīrayāmāsa tāṃ tāṃ śvapacasaṃkathām ,
vṛkṣāgragatamārjāraphetkāraṃ mṛgarāḍiva 18
18. nṛpaḥ avadhīrayāmāsa tām tām śvapacasaṃkathām
vṛkṣāgragatamārjāraphetkāram mṛgarāṭ iva
18. nṛpaḥ tām tām śvapacasaṃkathām avadhīrayāmāsa,
mṛgarāṭ vṛkṣāgragatamārjāraphetkāram iva.
18. The king disregarded those various talks of outcasts, just as a lion disregards the hissing of a cat perched at the top of a tree.
