bandhudarśanam anantānām viśrāmāṇām (ca aśeṣāṇām ānandānām api mahatām lābhānām) sīmāntaḥ (asti).

The sight of a relative is the pinnacle of endless comforts, of all joys, and even of great gains. While the king was speaking thus to the dog-eater, he showed disregard (for the dog-eater) through various gestures that overcame the immediate situation.
