मनसोऽभ्युदयो नाशो मनोनाशो महोदयः ।
ज्ञमनो नाशमभ्येति मनोऽज्ञस्य विवर्धते ॥ १८ ॥

manaso'bhyudayo nāśo manonāśo mahodayaḥ ,
jñamano nāśamabhyeti mano'jñasya vivardhate 18

jñamanaḥ nāśam abhyeti manaḥ ajñasya vivardhate

18. The prosperity of the mind is its destruction; the destruction of the mind is great prosperity. The mind of the wise attains destruction, while the mind of the ignorant grows.
