tasmāccidapyacidrūpaṃ cetyariktaṃ tadātmani ,
jagattā tādṛgeveyaṃ tāvanmātrātmatāvaśāt 24
24. tasmāt cit api acit-rūpam cetya-riktam tat-ātmani
jagat-tā tādṛk eva iyam tāvat-mātra-ātmatā-vaśāt
24. tasmāt,
tat-ātmani cetya-riktam cit api acit-rūpam [bhavati].
iyam jagat-tā tāvat-mātra-ātmatā-vaśāt tādṛk eva [asti].
24. Therefore, even consciousness (cit), when devoid of the knowable (cetya), is in its own true nature (ātman) like non-consciousness (acit). This world-ness (jagattā) is precisely of that same kind, owing to its intrinsic nature (ātmatā) being limited to just that (mere consciousness).
