मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-107, verse-6

यथा वृत्तं च ते तस्मै नरेन्द्राय न्यवेदयन् ।
वरं लब्ध्वा सहस्रांशो सकाशादखिलं द्विज ॥६॥
6. yathā vṛttaṃ ca te tasmai narendrāya nyavedayan .
varaṃ labdhvā sahasrāṃśo sakāśādakhilaṃ dvija.
6. yathā vr̥ttam ca te tasmai nara-indrāya nyavedayan
varam labdhvā sahasra-aṃśo sakāśāt akhilam dvija
6. And they, O twice-born (dvija), having obtained the boon from the presence of the thousand-rayed Sun (sahasrāṃśu), reported the entire event, just as it occurred, to that king (narendra).
