मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततस्ते प्रणिपत्योचुर्विप्रक्षत्रादयो जनाः ।
ससाध्वसमशीतांशुमवलोक्य पुरः स्थितम् ॥२॥

2. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
tataste praṇipatyocurviprakṣatrādayo janāḥ .
sasādhvasamaśītāṃśumavalokya puraḥ sthitam.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then, those people, led by Brahmins and Kṣatriyas, having bowed down and having observed the Sun (aśītāṃśu) standing before them, spoke with respectful apprehension.
