मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-107, verse-40

( यजते च महायज्ञैः समाप्तवरदक्षिणः ।
श्रुत्वा चरितमेतद्धि समानं लभते फलम् ) मन्त्राश्च येऽत्राभिहिता भास्वतो मुनिसत्तम ।
जपः प्रत्येकमेतेषां त्रिसंध्यं पातकापहः ॥४०॥
40. ( yajate ca mahāyajñaiḥ samāptavaradakṣiṇaḥ .
śrutvā caritametaddhi samānaṃ labhate phalam ) mantrāśca ye'trābhihitā bhāsvato munisattama .
japaḥ pratyekameteṣāṃ trisaṃdhyaṃ pātakāpahaḥ.
40. yajate ca mahā-yajñaiḥ samāpta-vara-dakṣiṇaḥ śrutvā
caritam etat hi samānam labhate phalam mantrāḥ
ca ye atra abhihitāḥ bhāsvataḥ muni-sattama
japaḥ pratyekam eteṣām tri-saṃdhyam pātaka-apahaḥ
40. ( yaḥ mahā-yajñaiḥ ca yajate,
samāpta-vara-dakṣiṇaḥ [ca bhavati],
saḥ etad caritam śrutvā hi samānam phalam labhate.
) ca he muni-sattama ye mantrāḥ atra bhāsvataḥ abhihitāḥ,
eteṣām pratyekam tri-saṃdhyam japaḥ pātaka-apahaḥ (bhavati)
40. (One who performs great Vedic rituals (yajña) and completes the offering of excellent ritual fees, truly obtains an equivalent reward by hearing this story.) And, O best of sages (munisattama), the mantras of the radiant Sun God (Bhāsvat) that are declared here—the individual recitation (japa) of each of these at the three junctions of the day (morning, noon, and evening) removes all sins.
