महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-21, verse-42

मुहूर्तादिव संवृत्तं नीरजस्कं समन्ततः ।
वीरशोणितसिक्तायां भूमौ भरतसत्तम ।
उपाशाम्यत्ततस्तीव्रं तद्रजो घोरदर्शनम् ॥४२॥
42. muhūrtādiva saṁvṛttaṁ nīrajaskaṁ samantataḥ ,
vīraśoṇitasiktāyāṁ bhūmau bharatasattama ,
upāśāmyattatastīvraṁ tadrajo ghoradarśanam.

samantataḥ vīra-śoṇita-siktāyām
bhūmau bharata-sattama upāśāmyat tataḥ
tīvram tad rajaḥ ghora-darśanam
42. bharata-sattama,

tataḥ tīvram ghora-darśanam tat rajaḥ vīra-śoṇita-siktāyām bhūmau upāśāmyat.
42. O best of the Bharatas, as if in an instant, everything became free of dust. Then that intense, dreadful-looking dust settled on the ground, which was drenched with the blood of heroes.
