महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-6, verse-5

लब्धलक्षैः परैर्हृष्टैर्व्यायच्छद्भिश्चिरं तदा ।
संध्याकालं समासाद्य प्रत्याहारमकारयत् ॥५॥
5. labdhalakṣaiḥ parairhṛṣṭairvyāyacchadbhiściraṁ tadā ,
saṁdhyākālaṁ samāsādya pratyāhāramakārayat.

tadā sandhyā-kālam samāsādya pratyāhāram akārayat

paraiḥ sandhyā-kālam samāsādya pratyāhāram akārayat
5. Then, facing enemies who had achieved their objective, were jubilant, and had been fighting hard for a long time, he ordered a retreat upon reaching the time of dusk.
