महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-38, verse-32

तदभूत्तुमुलं युद्धं वृष्णिपार्षतयो रणे ।
आमिषार्थे यथा युद्धं श्येनयोर्गृद्धयोर्नृप ॥३२॥
32. tadabhūttumulaṁ yuddhaṁ vṛṣṇipārṣatayo raṇe ,
āmiṣārthe yathā yuddhaṁ śyenayorgṛddhayornṛpa.
32. tad abhūt tumulam yuddham vṛṣṇipārṣatayoḥ raṇe
āmiṣārthe yathā yuddham śyenayoḥ gṛddhayoḥ nṛpa
32. nṛpa,
tad raṇe vṛṣṇipārṣatayoḥ tumulam yuddham abhūt; yathā āmiṣārthe śyenayoḥ gṛddhayoḥ yuddham (bhūt)
32. Then, O king, a tumultuous battle ensued on the battlefield between the Vṛṣṇi (Kṛtavarmā) and the Pārṣata (Dhṛṣṭadyumna), just like a battle between two hawks or two vultures fighting over a piece of meat.
