महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-38, verse-20

स विचर्मा महाराज खड्गपाणिरुपाद्रवत् ।
कृपस्य वशमापन्नो मृत्योरास्यमिवातुरः ॥२०॥
20. sa vicarmā mahārāja khaḍgapāṇirupādravat ,
kṛpasya vaśamāpanno mṛtyorāsyamivāturaḥ.

kṛpasya vaśam āpannaḥ mṛtyoḥ āsyām iva āturaḥ
20. mahārāja saḥ vicarmā khaḍgapāṇiḥ kṛpasya vaśam
āpannaḥ āturaḥ mṛtyoḥ āsyām iva upādravat
20. O great king, he, now without a shield but sword in hand, rushed forward. Having fallen into Kṛpa's power, he was like a distressed man entering the mouth of death.
