महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-38, verse-19

शतचन्द्रं ततश्चर्म गौतमः पार्षतस्य ह ।
व्यधमत्सायकैस्तूर्णं तत उच्चुक्रुशुर्जनाः ॥१९॥
19. śatacandraṁ tataścarma gautamaḥ pārṣatasya ha ,
vyadhamatsāyakaistūrṇaṁ tata uccukruśurjanāḥ.
19. śatacaṃdram tataḥ carma gautamaḥ pārṣatasya ha
vyadhamat sāyakaiḥ tūrṇam tataḥ uccukruśuḥ janāḥ
19. tataḥ gautamaḥ pārṣatasya śatacaṃdram carma ha
sāyakaiḥ tūrṇam vyadhamat tataḥ janāḥ uccukruśuḥ
19. Then Gautama (Kṛpa) swiftly struck down Pārṣata's (Dṛṣṭadyumna's) shield, which was marked with a hundred moons, using arrows. At that, the people cried out.
