महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-34, verse-21

चिरकालाभिलषितो ममायं तु मनोरथः ।
अर्जुनं समरे हन्यां मां वा हन्याद्धनंजयः ।
स मे कदाचिदद्यैव भवेद्भीमसमागमात् ॥२१॥
21. cirakālābhilaṣito mamāyaṁ tu manorathaḥ ,
arjunaṁ samare hanyāṁ māṁ vā hanyāddhanaṁjayaḥ ,
sa me kadācidadyaiva bhavedbhīmasamāgamāt.
21. cirakālābhilaṣitaḥ mama ayam tu
manorathaḥ arjunam samare hanyām mām
vā hanyāt dhanaṃjayaḥ saḥ me kadācit
adya eva bhavet bhīmasamāgamāt
21. ayam mama cirakālābhilaṣitaḥ manorathaḥ tu (asti): (yat) arjunam samare hanyām vā dhanaṃjayaḥ mām hanyāt.
saḥ me (manorathaḥ) kadācit adya eva bhīmasamāgamāt bhavet
21. This long-cherished desire of mine is that I either slay Arjuna in battle, or Dhanaṃjaya (Arjuna) slays me. May that wish of mine be fulfilled perhaps even today, owing to this encounter (which Bhīma's presence has brought about).
