महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-76, verse-4

असन्तस्तु न्यवर्तन्त वेदेभ्य इव नास्तिकाः ।
नरकं भजमानास्ते प्रत्यपद्यन्त किल्बिषम् ॥४॥
4. asantastu nyavartanta vedebhya iva nāstikāḥ ,
narakaṁ bhajamānāste pratyapadyanta kilbiṣam.
4. asantaḥ tu ni avartanta vedebhyaḥ iva nāstikāḥ
narakam bhajamānāḥ te prati apadyanta kilbiṣam
4. tu asantaḥ nāstikāḥ vedebhyaḥ iva ni avartanta.
te narakam bhajamānāḥ kilbiṣam prati apadyanta.
4. But the wicked ones returned, just as non-believers turn away from the Vedas. They, experiencing hell, incurred punishment.
