महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-263, verse-38

तस्याचचक्षे गन्धर्वो विश्वावसुरहं नृप ।
प्राप्तो ब्रह्मानुशापेन योनिं राक्षससेविताम् ॥३८॥
38. tasyācacakṣe gandharvo viśvāvasurahaṁ nṛpa ,
prāpto brahmānuśāpena yoniṁ rākṣasasevitām.
38. tasya ācacakshe gandharvaḥ viśvāvasuḥ aham nṛpa
prāptaḥ brahmānuśāpena yonim rākṣasasevitām
38. To him, the gandharva named Viśvāvasu recounted: "O King, I am Viśvāvasu, who, having been cursed by Brahmā, have attained a birth (yoni) frequented by rākṣasas."
