महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-263, verse-27

स राममभिसंप्रेक्ष्य कृष्यते येन तन्मुखम् ।
विषण्णश्चाब्रवीद्रामं पश्यावस्थामिमां मम ॥२७॥
27. sa rāmamabhisaṁprekṣya kṛṣyate yena tanmukham ,
viṣaṇṇaścābravīdrāmaṁ paśyāvasthāmimāṁ mama.
27. saḥ rāmam abhisaṃprekṣya kṛṣyate yena tat mukham
viṣaṇṇaḥ ca abravīt rāmam paśya avasthām imām mama
27. After intently observing Rama, and seeing how his own face was being drawn towards that (demon's) mouth, he (Lakṣmaṇa), dejected, said to Rama, "Look at this predicament of mine!"
