महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-263, verse-33

इत्येवं वदता तस्य भुजो रामेण पातितः ।
खड्गेन भृशतीक्ष्णेन निकृत्तस्तिलकाण्डवत् ॥३३॥
33. ityevaṁ vadatā tasya bhujo rāmeṇa pātitaḥ ,
khaḍgena bhṛśatīkṣṇena nikṛttastilakāṇḍavat.
33. iti evam vadata tasya bhujaḥ rāmeṇa pātitaḥ
khaḍgena bhṛśatīkṣṇena nikṛttaḥ tilakāṇḍavat
33. As he spoke thus, Rama severed his arm with a very sharp sword, cutting it off like a sesame stalk.
