महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-262, verse-29

एतादृशं वचः श्रुत्वा लक्ष्मणः प्रियराघवः ।
पिधाय कर्णौ सद्वृत्तः प्रस्थितो येन राघवः ।
स रामस्य पदं गृह्य प्रससार धनुर्धरः ॥२९॥
29. etādṛśaṁ vacaḥ śrutvā lakṣmaṇaḥ priyarāghavaḥ ,
pidhāya karṇau sadvṛttaḥ prasthito yena rāghavaḥ ,
sa rāmasya padaṁ gṛhya prasasāra dhanurdharaḥ.

29. Having heard such words, Lakṣmaṇa, who was dear to Rāma (Rāghava) and of good conduct, covered his ears and departed in the direction where Rāma (Rāghava) had gone. That bow-bearer then advanced, following Rāma's footprints.
