महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-262, verse-1

मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
मारीचस्त्वथ संभ्रान्तो दृष्ट्वा रावणमागतम् ।
पूजयामास सत्कारैः फलमूलादिभिस्तथा ॥१॥
1. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
mārīcastvatha saṁbhrānto dṛṣṭvā rāvaṇamāgatam ,
pūjayāmāsa satkāraiḥ phalamūlādibhistathā.
1. mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca mārīcaḥ tu atha sambhrāntaḥ dṛṣṭvā
rāvaṇam āgatam pūjayāmāsa satkāraiḥ phalamūlādibhiḥ tathā
1. Mārkaṇḍeya said: Mārīca, upon seeing Rāvaṇa arrive, was bewildered. Yet, he honored him with respectful offerings, such as fruits and roots.
