यदा च शोचतः शोको व्यसनं नापकर्षति ।
सामर्थ्यं किं त्वतः शोके शोचमानौ प्रपश्यथः ।
धृतिं गृह्णीत मा शत्रूञ्शोचन्तौ नन्दयिष्यथः ॥३५॥

35. yadā ca śocataḥ śoko vyasanaṁ nāpakarṣati ,
sāmarthyaṁ kiṁ tvataḥ śoke śocamānau prapaśyathaḥ ,
dhṛtiṁ gṛhṇīta mā śatrūñśocantau nandayiṣyathaḥ.

35.
And since grief (śoka) does not remove misfortune from one who grieves, what power do you two see then in this lamentation (śoka)? Hold fast to your resolve! Do not, by your lamenting, delight your enemies.
