महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-145, verse-29

फलमूलाशनैर्दान्तैश्चीरकृष्णाजिनाम्बरैः ।
सूर्यवैश्वानरसमैस्तपसा भावितात्मभिः ॥२९॥
29. phalamūlāśanairdāntaiścīrakṛṣṇājināmbaraiḥ ,
sūryavaiśvānarasamaistapasā bhāvitātmabhiḥ.
29. phalmūlāśanaiḥ dāntaiḥ cīrakṛṣṇājināmbaraiḥ
sūryavaiśvānarāsamaiḥ tapasā bhāvitātmabhiḥ
29. By those who subsist on fruits and roots, who are disciplined, who wear garments of bark and black deerskin, who are brilliant like the sun and the sacrificial fire (vaiśvānara), and whose inner selves (ātman) are purified by their severe austerity (tapas).
