महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-16, chapter-4, verse-38

तृणं च मुसलीभूतमपि तत्र व्यदृश्यत ।
ब्रह्मदण्डकृतं सर्वमिति तद्विद्धि पार्थिव ॥३८॥

38. tṛṇaṁ ca musalībhūtamapi tatra vyadṛśyata ,
brahmadaṇḍakṛtaṁ sarvamiti tadviddhi pārthiva.

brahmadaṇḍakṛtam sarvam iti tat viddhi pārthiva

38. tṛṇam ca api tatra musalībhūtam vyadṛśyata

38. And even grass (tṛṇa) was seen there, having turned into a mace (musala). Know this, O earthly ruler (pārthiva), that all of this was brought about by the curse of the brahmins (brahmadaṇḍa).
